We'll Resist Any Coup Attempt, Tinubu Vows

The former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, on Monday called on the military to perish any attempt to lure it to stage a coup against the democratic process, vowing that such attempt would be vehemently resisted.

The Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, had last week revealed that some military officers were hobnobbing with politicians ostensibly to overthrow the present democratically elected government.
But speaking at a Special Parliamentary Session organised by the Lagos State House of Assembly to mark the Lagos@50 celebrations and the second anniversary of the 8th Assembly, Mr. Tinubu advised those behind the attempt to truncate the democratic which Nigerians fought hard for should perish such idea in their best interest.

“But amidst the celebration, I will like to sound a caution to us all the precious thing we have – democracy that we are now trying to perfect is not guaranteed to us,” Mr. Tinubu said.


“We must sweat hard yet think wisely if we are to keep it. There will always be some people who want to undermine democracy. These people gain more from the government in the dark.

“Just a few days ago, we had a warning that some people were trying to entice the military out of the barracks. I say don’t try it. I want to add my voice to that warning. Those who think they can break the democracy so many of us laboured and for which too many people died, sacrificed their lives, they are sure mistaken.

“Nigeria has come too far for such a thing to happen. Those people behind such idea will find no fertile ground to plant their seed in Lagos. We will not buy their bad product; whatever they want to sell is a bad product and we are going to reject it. We tell them, move away from here because Lagos State will resist it, Lagos State is saying move away from it, don’t think about it, we are all staying together to grow our democracy,” Mr. Tinubu said.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 command, Adamu Ibrahim, MNI, has directed that police officers to stop arresting people for using vehicles with tinted glass.

Zonal Police P.R.O, SP Dolapo Badmus relayed this message while speaking with LIB, saying that no police officer has the right to arrest anyone for using tinted glasses and they have been asked to stop demanding for renewal of tinted permit. She however advised the public to get their tinted glass permit which is non renewable.

As a man that I am today who developed from being one of you guys, who went through the same struggles you are presently going through, who had to run and jump hurdles where other kids just walk past the same situation in a better environment with better resources and much provisions, I know the society do not expect you to make it, the government don’t care about your future, they toy and joke around making rules and laws that only affect you and benefit the rich. You lack everything it requires to become who you might have loved to be, do the things you would have loved to do or to live the life you may have seen on tv or the internet, which I know you even have limited access to because there’s never power supply for such, which means you are deprived most of the things that can be learnt through tv and internet in the first place which makes your dreams smaller, quicker to fade away but I want you to know that darkness you are, without the dark, the stars won’t shine and so you can shine out if that darkness.

You have been deprived so many right a child deserves and the world look down on you because you are nothing but a clot of blood miraculously turned a baby, and an unfortunate one at that. Good health, good foods or good education hasn’t been in any way your chance to have. Looking at you disgusts not your brethren only but even strangers are not so impressed for your unhealthy appearance. Your strength; courage; and dreams are nothing but hallucination just because you were not supposed to dream big.

Stop counting Lagos as part of Yorubaland, says Oba of Lagos Akiolu

The  oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu,visited Acting President Yemi Osinbajo at the presidential villa in Abuja on Thursday.

The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, has claimed that Lagos State is not part of Yoruba land.

Akiolu’s statement is coming barely a week after he publicly humiliated the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi at an event.

In a statement from Akiolu’s palace, the monarch traced the historical background of the state and why it should not be regarded as part of Yoruba land.

The statement reads: “Coming from the palace, with what I was told by my late paternal grandmother who is a descendant of Oba Ovonramwen Nogbaisi and also reading from factual Historical books, let me share this Knowledge with you all on Eko/Lagos.

“Modern day Lagos was founded by Prince Ado, the son of the Oba of Benin, Prince Ado was the first Oba of Lagos, the son of the Bini King, Prince Ado, named the town Eko until the Portuguese explorer Ruy de Segueira changed the Maritime town to Lagos, which at that time from 1942 was Portuguese expedition center down the African Coast.

“It was a major centre of the slave trade until 1851. Lagos was annexed by Britain via the Lagos treaty of cession in 1861, ending the consular period and starting the British Colonial Period. The remainder of modern day Nigeria was seized in 1886 when the Colony and Protectorate of Nigeria was established in 1914 Lagos was declared its capital due to the struggle of the Bini King.

“Lagos experienced growth prior to the British Colonial rule and even more rapid growth during the Colonial rule throughout the 1960s, 70s, continued through the 80s and 90s till date. Thanks to the Awori’s, Bini’s, Yoruba’s, migrants across the nation and world at large, as no particular group of people can take the glory alone.

Afamefula, the first son of Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha, has graduated from Imperial College London with M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering on Wednesday, May 3.

This is coming just few days after his mum, Nneoma Dr Mrs. Rochas Okorocha bagged a doctorate degree from Imo State University, Owerri. Afamefula had a few years ago obtained a First Class degree in Engineering from Manchester University, UK.

And the 36-year-old blogger actually accepted causing fans to wonder if something wasn’t already going on between the two.

I went to an event in 2015 and I suppose that was the beginning of something amazing because once banky saw me, he decided that he was going to be my biggest fan.

He slid into my DM and sent the funniest message and that was how we became friends. At the time, I wasn’t interested in anything but a friendship and he was very respectful of that and so we stayed just friends for about a year and a half.

Breaking!!! Oba Of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu’s Palace On Fire… People Are Saying… Well, You Already Know!!!

Developing news making rounds on social media reveal that the house of the popular Lagos State traditional ruler, Oba Rilwan Akiolu is currently on fire.

fire fighters are currently at the palace of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu in a bid to quench an inferno that reportedly engulfed his bedroom.

Policemen are reportedly stationed at scene of the fire outbreak to maintain law and order as residents run helter skelter in a bid to salvage the situation.

The cause of the fire hasn’t been revealed, however the police have cordoned off the road leading to the palace.

Recall that the controversial traditional ruler was recently in the news over his public snubbing of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi at a public gathering leading to bitter agitations amongst Nigerians on social media.

However, in light of this, some people are linking the fire incidence, to what he did to the Ooni of Ife at a function recently.
